HKGCWS dedicated to help our members to grab business opportunities in the Mainland China. Therefore, we have announced the cooperation with related parties to organize wine exposition. Our members have obtained information about the preferential terms on joining the expositions. We also
introduced our Mainland China partners about their position in the industry and advantageous position in the local area.

The 10th Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is a milestone of the event. During the press conference, ten elements of the theme “10” were introduced and our chairman, Dr. Jojo So, has also announced the key programmes of the HKGCWS exhibitors.

Washu Fes HK 2018 was an exciting event that different kinds of washu, liqueur, craft beer and whisky were offered for tasting. Apart from the amazing collection of washu and craft beer, the award-winning sake of “Tasting Trendies Sake Award 2018” (TTSA 2018) were also showcased. The judge panel of TTSA 2018 consists of local experts and customers and select the sakes that match your taste buds! There were 122 types of sake from 43 wineries and 1/3 of those are imported from Japan to join the competition.

The HKGCWS gathered our trade members to join the China GuiZhou International Alcoholic Beverages Expo (The Expo) which is the only The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry approved wine exposition. The exhibition area of The Expo was over 72,000 square meters. There were 3,000 international standard booths in 8 exhibition areas. Over 20,000 professional buyers have visited The Expo.

Shanghai Wine & Dine Festival was organized by the Shanghai Morning Post, a subsidiary of Shanghai United Media Group, and aim at bringing fine wine and food to customers. This fun yet “delicious” festival was fully supported the PuDong Pudong New Area Government and Expo Shanghai Group.

The 10th CCB (Asia) Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival brings world-class food and drink. There were more than 450 booths offering various gourmet food and great wines. There were 41 booths of our member in different thematic zone.
The HKGCWS has held a barrel tasting event during the festival and offered special
package for customers to taste award-winning wines from the “HKGCWS Wine & Spirits Judging Awards 2018”.

TOE is an abbreviation for Taste of Excellence. TOEwine cooperated with professional bodies such as Shenzhen Wine Industry Association, China Wine Associations Alliance, Shenzhen Hotel Association, and carefully selected around 100 equality exhibitors. Visitors from various sectors including importers/ distributors, wholesalers, hypermarkets, the premium catering industry and high-end consumers fromcorporations and premium clubs.

The forum “Changes and Consumption Upgrade of China Wine Market in 2018” was conducted by Secretary for Wine Society of China Institute of Food Science Technology, Mr. Liu Shi Song and the chairman of the HKGCWS, Dr. Jojo So, as the guest speaker. The forum focused on discussing the consumption upgrade of the wine market and how the upgrade would bring about the competition between local and imported alcoholic beverage.

With strong support from the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the show is specially designed for promoting Japanese food export to the world. Have 600* Japanese companies as exhibitors and 4,000* importers and buyers from 80* countries to participate in the fair. Invited by JETRO, A group of 22 HKGCWS corporate members visited the Japan’s Food Export Fair in Tokyo.

Tasting great wines from latitude 41o to 50o, the cool area in Canada including Ontario and British Columbia, was in incredible experience. Our members have enjoyed a special wine pairing lunch and are being introduced to the vast varieties of Canadian alcoholic beverages.

Over 30,000 visitors have visited the 2018 Qingdao International Wine Exposition and over 90% of them were professional buyers. The HKGCWS has gathered a group of our trade members to join the Expo as exhibitors. All of us had a fruitful result and excellent experience in terms of visitors’ quality, successful deal rate and all the events organized by different countries. We have also established a concrete foundation for the future development in the China market for the Hong Kong wine industry.

The 4th Ha Tsuen Food and Cultural Festival had over 70 food and handcraft booth. Different thematic activities and entertainment shows would keep everyone enjoying the festival. There were Winefest programme in every evening including Selected Sake Showcase (29/12) , Beer Drinking Competition (30/12) ,Sabering Champagne (31/12), Lucky Cocktail Making (2019 New Year’s Eve).

December 16th marked the establishment ceremony of The (greater) Bay Area Alliance of Wine for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Shenzen. Chairman of the HKGCWS, Dr. Jojo So, and our Founding Consultant, Mr. David Yau, have led our committee members to attend the ceremony. Experts and business tycoons, such as Chairman of China Food Association, Ms. He Ji Hong, Founding Chairman and Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Alcohol Industry Association, Mr. Chu Si Xu and Mr. Peng Hong, Chairman of Macao Wine Products Professional Association, Mr. Bandy Choi, and the key persons in wine industry of Zhaoqing, Zhongshan, Foshan, Dongguan and Huizhou.
