Past Education and Training Events

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government offers various funding schemes to promote and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong. To help members better understand the details and application processes, the HKGCWS has invited two relevant public organizations—Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC)—to provide briefings on the “Overview of Government Funding Schemes Supporting the Industry” and the “Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS).” A Q&A session will also be held to address members’ inquiries.

The Burgundy Study Tour 2018 was held by the Hong Kong Sommelier & Bartender Training College and led by the Chairman of Education & Training Committee and Expert Advisor, Dr. Damon Yuen. Our members visited different wineries in Burgundy and it deepened our members’ understanding of the wine making process and the uniqueness of each winery. The study tour was not only a great learning experience but also a precious journey of enjoyment and friendship.

To enhance the professional standards of industry practitioners and promote the spirit of lifelong learning, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Wine & Spirits has partnered with the Hong Kong Commercial Professional Evaluation Centre to launch the “Professional Wine Industry Management Program,” organized by the Institute for Entrepreneurship of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Graduation issued by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and will meet the basic qualifications to apply for the titles of Professional Member, Associate Member, or Fellow of the The Professional Validation Centre of Hong Kong Business Sector.
